Re: Where to view aurora borealis in May in Iceland?
There is no specific location to view aurora in Iceland. It can be observed from anywhere in the country. Northern Lights season in Iceland is typically from September through April. Your chances of actually seeing the Northern Lights depend on a few factors: dark and clear skies and how active the aurora is that day (KP index). We were lucky to see Northern Lights on both of our trips (September and March). We found this website very useful to keep an eye on aurora forecast. We talk about our Northern Lights chasing experience last month in our new blog nomadsintraining.com in case you're interested!
